TPJC Character and Citizenship Education
At Tampines Junior College, we strive to develop our students to be individuals of good character, to display effective leadership skills and to be civic-minded and responsible citizens. We believe that these outcomes can be achieved through our comprehensive Student Development programme which is developed based on the 3 pillars of ‘Leading Self, Leading Others and Serving the Community’.
We adopt a holistic and integrated approach towards developing our students’ character and leadership qualities through our 6 key components namely Instructional Programme, CCAs, Student Leadership Development, Values In Action Programme, Citizenship Education Programme and Lifeskills and Enrichment Programme to promote social, moral, aesthetics, life skills and leadership development of students.
The College believes that education goes beyond academic excellence. Through the Instructional Programme and Co-Curricular Activities, students are given ample opportunities to develop and strengthen their character to lead themselves and to lead their peers.
Through our Lifeskills and Enrichment Programme, Student Leadership Programme, Citizenship Programme and Values In Action Programme, we seek to nurture students with a sense of civic responsibility and equip them with social-emotional competencies and 21st century competencies which enhance their intrapersonal and interpersonal effectiveness in order to achieve the desired student outcomes of a Confident Person, a Self-Directed Learner, a Concerned Citizen and an Active Contributor.
Ultimately, through our wide array of programmes and opportunities available for our students, we hope to develop students of good character, service and leadership qualities. With every TPJCian a leader who actively inculcates an excellence of achievement, a passion for learning and a zest for life with a sense of civic responsibility, this will effectively strengthen and raise our College and Team Spirit to greater heights.
