Outdoor Activities Club (ODAC)
ODAC provides members with the opportunities to organise and participate in outdoor activities and experiential challenges that build resilience, collaboration and leadership. Members also get to explore the natural environment in a safe setting to develop an appreciation of nature and to gain awareness of environmental issues.
Members can look forward to subsidised courses to learn outdoor skills and gain certification in activities such as kayaking and sport climbing. Through all these activities, we hope to foster the spirit of teamwork and provide opportunities for members to develop essential life skills.
Physical Training: Wednesday from 3.30-530pm.
This also serves to meet the requirement to complete the Physical Section of the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) that ODAC members are encouraged to sign up for. NYAA is a prestigious youth development programme which aims to develop personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance and a sense of responsibility to oneself and to society.
Outdoor Activities: Friday 3.00-6.30pm.
We have set the following criteria in recruitment of new ODAC members:
- ability to swim and do water activities such as 1 & 2 Star Kayaking course, Sea Expedition, etc
- able to stay overnight for camps and be away from home for a few days
- physically & medically fit (no long term MC or medical issues)
This is to ensure that all members will be able to participate actively and safely in all ODAC activities.
