Event Highlights Term 1 2015


On 19th March 2015, the EAS had our very first bonding over BBQ session sponsored by our Principal, Ms Yoong. All food was specially prepared by our own EAS. It was indeed a fun time spent together. All the EAS would like to thank Ms Yoong once again.










Interact Club Visit to Singapore Philatelic Museum

On 18th March 2015, the members of Interact Club brought the elderly from Kampung Senang to Singapore Philatelic Museum. Students and elderly got to interact and learn about the heritage of Singapore and other countries.









GP Enrichment- ACS International Thinkers’ Day 2015

A team of students participated in Anglo Chinese School (International) Thinkers’ Day 2015 on Saturday 14 Mar 2015. The theme of the event was ‘Singapore and its foreign labour’. The event was graced by speakers from several Non-governmental organisations and Ms Grace Fu (Minister, PMO) who spoke on the theme. Students were tasked to discuss the issue and present their views in groups.


The team of TPJCians comprised of Md Atiqullah Ismail (14A05), Sarah Xiu Hui Chang (14A06), Chan Min Alicia (14A06 and Phua Keng Yung (14S13). Alicia did us proud by winning the ‘Outstanding Participation Award” and the team which Sarah Xiu and Keng Yung were part of won the overall ‘Best Team Award’.






First Aid Course 2015

The First Aid Course 2015 has been recently conducted for selected CCA students and staff.









ASCD 2015

A team of teachers – Ms Tey Pei Hwa, Mr John Mak and Ms Chong Keting – led by Mr Inderjit Singh will be attending the ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) Annual Conference 2015 in Houston, Texas, USA and visiting several learning institutions from 16 Mar to 24 Mar. We wish them a fruitful learning experience and look forward to their sharing when they return.

CAC Dinner for Ms Choo & Ms Yoong

On 11 Feb 2015, the TPJC College Advisory Committee organized a dinner to bid Ms Helen Choo farewell and to welcome Ms Pamela Yoong to the TPJC Family. The invitation was also extended to the HOD team and 2 of our former principals, Mr Yahya and Mrs Susan Chan, were in attendance as well. It was indeed a most lovely evening spent with all who love and support the college.

TPJC wishes Ms Yap an enriching time of learning

Ms Yap Chin Fang is currently attending a National Institute of Education programme for Heads of Department – Management and Leadership in School. As part of the programme, Ms Yap gets to travel overseas for a learning journey. We wish Ms Yap an enriching time of learning.








2015 War Memorial Service

Tampines JC has been participating in the annual War Memorial Service organised by Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce for the civilians who perished during World War 2. One of our student representatives is requested to carry the wreath to be laid for the war dead.

Participating in the poignant event has been a significant opportunity for our students to reflect on the sacrifices made by our forefathers for our nation building and the peace and harmony we enjoy today.

Renewal of 2014 A* STAR Science Award

Congratulations to Lau Kang of 14S11 for the renewal of his 2014 A* STAR Science Award.  This award recognises students who have shown interest and excellence in the Sciences and Mathematics.  Well done, Lau Kang.







Celebration of A level results for 2014

The 2013 cohort has done the College proud by performing extremely well for the 2014 A-Level Examinations. A 2 part celebration will be held this Wednesday to rejoice over the excellent A-Level results. Once again, the College congratulates the students for their achievement and wishes them well in their future endeavors.











JC Experiential Programme

A warm welcome to our 11 PRC Senior Middle Two scholars embarking on the JC experiential programme in TPJC – 2nd March to 6th March 2015 / 7th March / 14th March.





Basic Leadership Workshop 27 February 2015

In line with our college’s vision – A Leader in Every Student – the entire JC1 cohort attended the Basic LeadershipWorkshop on 27 February 2015. Students were brought through the Leadership Challenge Model to equip them with the knowledge and skills to be effective student leaders who embody the college’s values.




JC1 Parent Teacher Meeting

The JC1 Parent Teacher Meeting was held on 27 February 2015. A briefing was held in the auditorium for the parents to better understand the A Level curriculum. This was followed by face-to-face interaction between teachers and parents in the allocated classrooms.








College Road Run

The college held its road run on the 25th Feb 2015 at Bedok Reservoir Park. Both students and staff participated in the road run.

Orientation Night for JC1

Orientation Night marks the end of JC1 orientation. The atmosphere in the hall that night was electrifying and it was a memorable experience for everyone who participated in the event.

We congratulate our PE teachers, Mr Ian Kwok and Ms Lee Yingqi, who took part in the Singapore Athletics Association Cross Country Championships at Bedok Reservoir on 7 February, on their respective achievements!

On 6th February,23 students and 1 teacher from Taiwan visited our college and interacted with our students. This is part of a project organised by the Reading Development Association of Singapore. Our warmest welcome to our friends!

On 5th February, 53 students and 6 teacher from Harbin, China, visited our college and interacted with our students. This is part of a project organised by the Reading Development Association of Singapore. Our guests toured around the College and visited our CCA exibition booths.

JC2 Awards Ceremony 2015

The JC2 Awards Ceremony 2015 was held on 29th January. The ceremony was to give recognition to students’ achievement in 2014 and the following awards were presented:

–  Sim Hong Boon Award (JC1)

–  JC 1 Book Prize

–  Good Progress Award

–  Edusave Character Award.


The Guest-of-Honour was Dr Kelvin Khng, our TPJC alumnus from the class of 1998. Congratulations to our awardees once again!






Excellence Service Awards – 2014

The Excellent Service Award (EXSA) coordinated by SPRING Singapore, is a national award that recognises individuals who have delivered outstanding service.


We congratulate our 3 EAS for being awarded the Excellence Service Award (EXSA) for 2014.

Tampines NPC Certificate of Appreciation presented to TPJC

Tampines Neighbourhood Police Centre presented a Certificate of Appreciation to TPJC for our partnership and continuous support. In the photograph below, our Operations Manager, Mr Tan, received the certificate from Superintendent Edwin Tan.
