Citizenship Education Programme
In TPJC, we believe that it is important to be aware about national and global issues, so that we can be grounded in our beliefs and are therefore confident in establishing our citizenship identity in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. This conviction inspired us to engage our students in meaningful activities and discussions, thus enabling them to relate to others and their community. In doing so, we hope to anchor their understanding of and appreciation for Singapore’s vulnerability, tenacity and togetherness, which will in turn empower them to reflect on their citizenship knowledge and actions, and be resolute in contributing back to the community. This three-pronged approach towards Citizenship Education (refer to Fig.1) ensures that students feel a sense of belonging to Singapore, thereby spurring them to take ownership in finding their footing in the world, and in creating a sustainable future for our nation.
